Raincatch is not any instrument, but it is a water purification coat that transforms gathered water into water that is drinkable, which can be enjoyed by the person who is wearing it on the go.
Rainwater is normally hygiene enough to drink, but in some parts of the world rain water is still clean enough to drink as soon as it comes down from the sky, but I would not suggest anyone to drink the rain water in today’s polluted environment without purifying it first. By doing this you would be putting your own health in a real risk. But CIID students have provided a solution for this problem by their invention. The discovery of CIID students, Joshua Noble and Hyeona Yang, you can enjoy the rain water on the go, without any worries.
Raincatch coat looks like a normal plastic bag filled with tubes, but in reality it hides a complicated water purifying system. The collar of the raincoat holds rainwater and then passes it through charcoal filters and chemical purifying mechanism. The water is then stored in pockets all over the shoulders and the person who is wearing the coat can sip the water at any time through the plastic pipes coming out of raincoat.
I would definitely love to have a Raincatch raincoat, so that I can use it when the problem of shortage of drinking water in this world arises.
